February is for Writers

Here is your friendly February update about what’s been heating up so far this year…

NOTHING! It’s been cold, and snowy, and I’ve been miserable!

Now that I’m finished whining, here are the real updates:

• Query is as query does. I’m more than halfway through the amount of book querying my stepbrother suggested I do. Honestly, it’s been a nice break focusing on book querying and letting the book sit there and fester in all its unpublished glory. I’m not sure if the next step is focusing on Book 2 for a bit, or returning to edit Book 1. Every day I can feel the pressure building–I just need to make up my mind which route to go. Until I’m finished querying though, there is no route I can take!
• Assuming I’m going to end up self-publishing When Violet Got Bored, I’ve been working on cover ideas. I’m no artist, so when I have something more to go on, it’s just going to have to be complete. I posted a WIP on my instagram of a meditating Violet and Phang the Pug. Follow me on instagram if you aren’t already–I’ve been posting weekly, various thoughts of word vomit and pictures. From my brain to your eyes!
• No movement on the children’s book. It just hasn’t been a priority.
• Swellness Vibes has been updated pretty regularly, however, so kudos to me! An elderberry recipe will be published tomorrow; follow me there, too, if you are not already doing it. And Leslie, if you’re seeing these words, post your post, already! We want to read it!!!
