School has started and the busy book season is upon us! I’m trying to stay on task as best as I can, and so I have tentative dates for everything! Who’s feeling the crunch?
BOOKS
Melody ~ The Hauntings of DoG Street
- Bruton Parish Church Cover Reveal (on Instagram): 9/13
- Bruton Parish Church Pre-order (Ebook or Paperback) Available: 9/13
- Bruton Parish Church Book Drop: 9/27
- Third Installment Begins: 10/4
Bruton Parish Church will be updated/edited with full-color photos in the ebook. The photos in the paperback will not be in color, just a heads up!
The third installment will start on Kindle Vella like its predecessors, so if you want to help direct where the upcoming tale is headed, be sure to follow along! You can make comments as we go, and vote in polls. The process is sort of a choose-your-own-adventure as it is written.
Violet ~ When Violet Took Flight
I’m so behind with this one! Readers will be sought out in September via Instagram–for real this time! This will be published in ebook and paperback forms. The third and final book will be released next year sometime. That book will be much shorter than its predecessors.
- Cover Reveal (again, on Instagram): 11/1
- Pre-order: 11/13
- Book Drop: 11/27
CONTESTS
I have been teaming up with Haunted Happenings in Salem, Massachusetts for a few years now, and this year is no different. My ad will run in their annual magazine, and will feature a now annual contest! Any new subscriber to The Hub in October will be automatically entered to win a copy of Chowning’s Tavern and Bruton Parish Church. Already a subscriber? I’ll tell you how to enter next month!
BLOGS
I teamed up with Aekta Bandodker to bring you her life’s tale through the lens of Ayurveda. It’s emotional, thoughtful and full of information regarding doshas that I think you’ll be interested in. As a bodyworker and holistic health educator, I love learning about systems of healing (new and old) and trying to figure out how to employ them for my clients as well as for my own family. Ayurveda has been around for a long time–read about Aekta’s experience and see if some of it resonates with you!
REVIEWS
I’m not quite sure what 3 books I thought I’d be reviewing for this month’s blog, but I have 2 to offer! I finally reviewed The Strong Bear of Venice by Katy Sloop Roberts (with awesome illustrations done by her uncle). Even if you aren’t a kid, you’ll want to check this book out not just for its feel-good messaging, but because it brings to life the magic of Venice, Italy! And who doesn’t love a magical cat?
I’ve also posted a review for Uncovering by Dr. Lorelei Brush. I met her a book festival earlier this year, and something just drew me to her. The book, while full of heavy topic matter, was easy to read. It follows Shahnaz, a strong-willed Pakistani Muslim who wants to keep being a nurse to help mothers and children but is being pulled in a different direction due to familial duties. Dr. Brush lived in northwest Pakistan for a bit working with an USAID-education program, and you can tell that the story is near and dear to her heart. On Dr. Brush’s website you can read her blurb about what inspired her fictional story.

Enjoy your September, friends! As the crisp air creeps in more, and the leaves begin their colorful dance, I hope you find moments of peace. 🫶
