biography

allison keli is deliberately in lower-case. Before the hostile world of the internet, self-driving cars and the decline of hieroglyphs–also known as cursive handwriting–allison received a degree in English and Religious Studies. It is easy to track how the cross-over of psychology and other studies from her college days have impacted her journey of life.

Post-grad, post-9/11, she was wooed for a job as a production assistant in Atlanta, but stumbled into work as a chiropractic assistant instead. This helped pave the way for self-discovery regarding health. While she continued studies in holistic health and spiritual care seeking various certificates, diplomas and degrees, she never stopped writing.

She created various websites and blogs during this time, journaled and wrote (and never finished!) stories. She even co-wrote a screenplay which was shopped around Hollywood for a while.

Eventually, she acquired a license in massage therapy (and of course, blogged about it!) and began to practice massage in conjunction with foot reflexology and Reiki. Her bodywork business includes practicing various therapies, teaching workshops, co-hosting a podcast, and of course, writing for Swellness Vibes, a blog which explores holistic health and spiritual topics.

At one point, the Gods that be decided she should procreate, and guess what? She blogged about her experiences. Sadly, the majority of these posts accidentally got deleted, as well as the massage school entries. She also wrote for Demand Studios during this time.

After the birth of her son, she created a blog to chronicle parenting. She also found the urge to create a children’s book. She had really enjoyed her children’s lit class as a college student, and the drive to give her son something to enjoy and eventually be proud of one day really began to entice her.

With his help, she finally published Phenix & Fox: Shooting Stars in black and cream, full-color and coloring book format. The full-color edition is also an ebook, and all are available at Amazon or on this website. She read Shooting Stars on the Car Life With Kids Podcast and plans to release it on Audible one day, too.

Like love triangles, magic and humor? Her first full-length novel, When Violet Got Bored, is available via many retailers, but currently just on ebook at Amazon. The second book, When Violet Took Flight, was released in November 2024. She is hoping the third, final, and much smaller book will be released in 2026..

allison’s serialized historical fiction spookfest, Chowning’s Tavern, was updated and edited into a paperback and ebook form in the fall of 2023. Bruton Parish Church, the second novella, was updated and edited for its fall 2024 release. The Wren Building, currently on its own website, will be edited, updated and released in the fall of 2025. The final installment, The Capitol, will be started this fall at TheHauntingsofDoGStreet.com.
