Jittery June

A solemn tone to start. Today I helped lay to rest a dear neighbor who became family over the years. To him, I say, “We’ve got your six. Vaya con Dios. ” 💛

On to bookish things –> I’ve got the jitters! It seems like I haven’t been writing or editing or doing anything bookish this year, so with the onset of summer, I’m climbing out of my other-persona cave to spread my arms and leap back into an author’s life.

Come visit me 20 June in Gloucester to purchase my books in-person! –> More below.

I ranted on the Flight of the Seedling blog about bullies. On Swellness Vibes. Julia Merrill’s two-part series about building lasting habits–with some real-world advice–came out. Read the first one here, the second one here.

I am pleased to announce that this means Julia has officially become a contributor to both blogs for a full year starting with her next post. I’m super excited to have a real contributor in the mix! Between Julia & my other guest bloggers, I’m spending more time editing than writing, but what a cool thing that is naturally evolving.

I hope you enjoy her posts!

The Hauntings of DoG Street website will probably go offline on October 29, 2026. For now, all episodes are locked and returned to draft form. All polls are closed. Only updates will be shared from the website itself unless I mention it here. You can read the latest post I shared here.

Books 1 & 2 are still available on Amazon as ebooks or paperbacks. Remember, the ebooks have full color photos! Both will be available for sale at the book festival, and the other two books will be out by my October 12th radio interview about The Capitol Building.

As I wrap up DoG Street and still have to finish The Light Thrower series as well as two more tails from Phenix & Fox, something is ruminating for this fall. Stay tuned!

I also wrote a book during NaNoWriMo’s last official year in 2024–a short middle grade book. I only wrote one draft of it, haven’t looked back since. However, I did recently print a copy of it for my son to read to see if it’s even worth editing. Maybe a collab project on the horizon with the wee one? Stay tuned for that, too!

Finally, the information you really care about! Don’t forget to see me at the Gloucester Arts Festival Book Fair on June 20th with 24 of my closest author pals! Here’s yet another opportunity for me to keep my foot out of my mouth, and practice sharing my books with the masses.

Why? Because if I can get just one person to laugh, have fun, escape for a short while… then why not?!

Until July — stay safe out there.
