Marvelous March

February was a busy month, which is a little nutty, considering it’s such a SHORT month. Alas, much occurred, and here’s your recap.

Blogs

I officially registered the URL http://www.SwellnessVibes.com for the Swellness blog. I have now finished my continuing education for the time being, so the series about the classes I took for my licensure renewal has come to an end. I hope you enjoyed the posts! I’m sure there will be more as time goes on.

February Topics included:

Swellness Vibes also had a guest blogger with a fun article suggesting various ways to enhance your mental wellness. Read it here. She mentions getting unusual pets; I am down with that, I almost got a tarantula once. (Thanks, Mom.)

Flight of the Seedling — a short post about prayers and stuffies.

Books

To celebrate my birthday, I found myself on my annual birthday trek to Barnes & Noble where I ended up making my usual round of random choices. It’s going to be fun to dive into them.

Here’s the pic I posted on instagram:

Have you read any of them?

I changed the cover to When Violet Got Bored. I am finally satisfied (enough) and will leave it alone! I also ran an ebook giveaway on social media to celebrate my birthday. The winner is also an author, so you should check him out: Mark Bierman. His book is definitely on my list to read.

I finally opened up my file for the second novel, tentatively titled When Violet Ran Away. It’s got over 50,000 words. The last novel currently has over 10,000 words. This means it’s time to get cracking at writing! (For reference, When Violet Got Bored was over 90,000 words!)

I need reviews! I got a couple for the Vella story; if you’ve read anything of mine, please leave a review on Amazon. I hear it’s a good thing to have reviews. 😂 (& don’t forget, you can read the whole story now over at Kindle Vella–and the last poll is still open!)

Other

I also did this mortifying Zoom interview. I was contacted by one of my all-time favorite oil companies to do a short feature about myself and the services/books I offer. It was such a short duration of time; I don’t even think I mentioned I’m a massage therapist! It hasn’t been posted yet, though… so if it ever gets posted, I will share it, in all its embarrassing glory.

The signed books I donated to Mase Madness went to silent auction at the end of February. Hopefully it went well! I have not heard otherwise. The Mason P. McKan Benevolence Fund was created to support SIDS research due to the loss of a the sweet little boy, Mason McKan, in 2012. They also have an annual basketball tournament which supports their local and underprivileged children to “pursue their dreams of athletic and personal success”.

Upcoming

A few signed copies of a couple of my books will be available soon via a direct-to-purchase on the website. I plan on doing a signed copy giveaway to celebrate it! This will be on social media… stay tuned. Perhaps some random merch will unfold itself, too. I’ve been looking at fun things to go along with Phenix & Fox (and my bodywork business).

I got a Wacom drawing tablet for my birthday, so I’m feeling that a second book of Phenix & Fox WILL eventually be released, with all digital pics! But first.. gotta color in the pictures for the hard back release this summer…

Went on a ghost tour last night to prepare for Melody’s next story! Check out her first one here.

My friend and I have a podcast release date for April 1! We’re going to release a short introduction prior to our first full-length recording (which will be about reiki). For anyone who wants to listen to similar topics that I write about on the Swellness Vibes blog, please stay tuned! The podcast is called (The) Woo Woo BBQ… we’re gonna roast… or toast… all the topics we love to explore! Should be fun.

There will be at least one post on Swellness Vibes this month… about my month spent with Jane Fonda and her amazing videos. Oh, I went there. I totally went there.
